Overview
Smiths Consulting was commissioned by a leading supplier to the Ministry of Defence to assist with the global design of their ERP solution using Oracle eBS and then deployment of it into the UK business units. The project scope included 90% back office functionality, interfaces to supporting systems and BI using Cognos.
Smiths Scope:
- FUNCTIONALLY LEAD the design and build of a UK wide Oracle model with full ERP functionality (all domains) which involved 5 business divisions with approximately 8,000 end users spread over 25 sites
- DEVELOPED and PROJECT MANAGED parallel deployments UK-wide including customer service, sales and contracts, manufacturing, finance, projects, purchasing (circa 30 modules). Additionally non Oracle systems included project management (Primavera), business intelligence (Cognos), HRP (Northgate), web travel expense tools and all interfaces.
- MANAGED business TESTING and provided functional support in joint partnership with the client and external service providers
- RESPONSIBLE for the overall UK programme delivery and management of a significant double digit budget
