Overview

Smiths Consulting was commissioned by one of the UK’s leading independent brewer and pub operations to design and implement their supply chain programme. As part of this programme, Smith Consultants carried out an assessment of the existing warehouse operation and advised a change plan to achieve the desired business objectives.

A single integrated solution was identified by Smiths Consulting who, commissioned as the prime supplier, carried out the roles of change manager, solution architect/project manager, lead WM and ABAP/4/SAP mobile developers. 

Smiths Scope:

• MANAGED the complete project life-cycle
• RECOMMENDED, DESIGNED AND DELIVERED a mobile SAP warehouse management solution fully integrated into the existing production and distribution processes and systems for the off-trade (includes supermarkets and off license companies) supply chain operation.

• INTRODUCED the production batch, best before date and pallet level (SSCC) traceability. This required a complex cutover involving the labelling and system migration of over 12,000 pallets.
