Overview
Smiths Consulting was commissioned by a mobile telecommunications company to design and implement a SAP R/3 and SAP mobile solution to support the business requirements of the company's outsourced network asset management. The existing SAP mobile solution needed to be upgraded and enhanced to allow the company and its field service contractors to properly capture and manage asset data for their UK Radio Access Network.
Smiths scope:
- DESIGNED and IMPLEMENTED a mobile SAP asset management solution, fully integrated into the existing SAP R/3 solution
- UPGRADED the existing Netweaver SAP mobile infrastructure
- MANAGED all aspects of the project lifecycle in order to achieve a successful rollout
- MANAGED key challenges including:
- Developing the new application for 300+ users who were already using an existing SAP mobile solution
