Stephen Lee, Managing Director

Prior to his consulting career, Stephen worked in the manufacturing sector for 10 years. He has worked as a Management Consultant since 1994, he has managed various consulting practices over the years and has delivered a number of Pan European and Global Business Change initiatives including SAP, Oracle and Siebel enabled projects programmes.

Calum Bennett, Financial Director

Calum is a chartered accountant with nearly 15 years in SAP delivery, originally as a financials consultant, and latterly in various project management and governance roles.

As finance director, he enjoys setting up the nuts and bolts of customer and supplier commercials.

James Magin, Director

James has 20 years Management Consulting experience, as Smiths Consulting Director, he has overall responsibility for ongoing development of the Smiths Consulting service lines and manages the engagement management team.

Martin Pittard, Operations Director

Martin has 14 years experience implementing Integrated Business Systems with leading SAP consultancy partners. His experience has focussed on the design and management of large-scale best practice SAP Supply Chain and CRM solutions for pan-European clients.

In addition to his role as Operations Director, Martin provides account management to some of our key clients and the occasional consulting engagement advising clients on supply chain solutions.

Simon Bridson-Jones, Consultant

Simon is a quality IT professional and has over 20 years experience with a proven record in successful delivery and a practical knowledge of businesses ranging from small UK to large multi-national public and private sector organisations.  Simon has a broad range of experience gained within a variety of posts providing a strong business focus in assisting organisations to implement business and technological changes in support of their strategic objectives.  Simon’s experience has covered a range of industry sectors including Public Sector, Telecoms, Manufacturing, Retail, Hi-Tech, FMCG and Financial Services.

Keith Pattinson, Consultant

Prior to working for Smiths Consulting Keith worked within Supply Chain, Logistics and Manufacturing systems for a large Pan-European food manufacturer. During this time he worked on several SAP ERP and interface implementations throughout the UK, Nordic and Western European regions. Keith also has Management experience of working within Production Planning and Warehousing environments. Working for Smiths Consulting allows him to utilise his previous experience and to further expand his knowledge and expertise.

Peter Woodford, Defence & Aerospace Adviser

Peter joined Smiths Consulting in 2008 as the Defence & Aerospace Adviser to the Board. He has over 40 years experience in the Sector in Business Director, General Manager, Sales & Marketing, Programme Management, and Systems Engineering roles.

He was with BT for 15 years and prior to that with Ferranti, Philips and GEC Marconi. He began his career as a Weapons Engineer Officer in the Royal Navy. 

Peter enjoys the great enthusiasm and professionalism of the people at Smiths. He is helping the Smiths Board with the development of its strategy and the penetration of the Defence & Aerospace market.

Mike Colbourn, Principal Technology Consultant

Mike is a Principal Technology Consultant with 12 years experience in implementing solutions in a number of industries, including Aerospace & Defence, Telecommunications and Retail. He has experience in a number of different project roles, covering project management, technical and business design lead and functional implementation. Mike is a highly motivated team leader and project manager with excellent communication and presentation skills, a comprehensive understanding of the business issues and builds a good rapport with the client. 

Ron Young, Consultant

Ron is a highly qualified and adaptable manager with over 20 years of IT experience gained by working as both an independent SAP consultant and as part of a senior management team for blue chip organisations. He is an extremely effective team player with strong management skills, is highly focussed, motivated and self-driven to succeed. 

Ron has a proven record for delivery of projects and programmes to aggressive time-scales and budgets and is a strategic thinker with a strong commercial focus, capable of managing major technology change whilst providing effective service provision.  Ron has the ability to formulate and implement an IT strategy using cost effective solutions and emerging technologies.

Stuart Findlow, Consultant and Solutions Architect

Stuart has over 12 years experience as a Consultant and Solutions Architect.  As well as a Business Solutions Architect, Stuart is a successful Team Manager with extensive knowledge of the telecommunications sector.  Stuart has also worked extensively with ERP platform consolidations and multiple Pan European SAP implementaions.  

Steve Dannatt, SAP & Oracle Consultant

Steve has 23+ years experience deploying systems, running programmes and projects and implementing business process change across food, telecoms, public sector, pharmaceutical, banking and utility organisations.

Since joining Smiths in 2007, Steve has been able to draw on his extensive SAP, Oracle and managerial experience gained from a variety of consulting placements. A recent engagement at the biggest Metropolitan Council in Europe involved running the Programme Management Offices(PMOs) for two £130M+ business transformation programmes.

Smiths has allowed Steve to bring to the fore his knowledge, expertise, abilities and enthusiasm for setting up and managing programmes and projects with proper structures and controls.
