Stephen Lee, Managing Director

Prior to his consulting career, Stephen worked in the manufacturing sector for 10 years. He has worked as a Management Consultant since 1994, he has managed various consulting practices over the years and has delivered a number of Pan European and Global Business Change initiatives including SAP, Oracle and Siebel enabled projects programmes.

Calum Bennett, Financial Director

Calum is a chartered accountant with nearly 15 years in SAP delivery, originally as a financials consultant, and latterly in various project management and governance roles.

As finance director, he enjoys setting up the nuts and bolts of customer and supplier commercials.

James Magin, Director

James has 20 years Management Consulting experience, as Smiths Consulting Director, he has overall responsibility for ongoing development of the Smiths Consulting service lines and manages the engagement management team.

Martin Pittard, Operations Director

Martin has 14 years experience implementing Integrated Business Systems with leading SAP consultancy partners. His experience has focussed on the design and management of large-scale best practice SAP Supply Chain and CRM solutions for pan-European clients.

In addition to his role as Operations Director, Martin provides account management to some of our key clients and the occasional consulting engagement advising clients on supply chain solutions.

Michael Newies, Business Transformation and Change Project Manager

Michael is an experienced Business Transformation and Change Project Manager, and has worked with SAP and other systems for over 15 years. He has previously worked for PwC, IBM and Axon and brings a wealth of experience and skills into Smiths.

His core skills are project management and organisational development gained in a variety of sectors and industries including local government, healthcare, retail, oil and gas, white goods, tobacco and communications.

Paul Jaworski, Principal Consultant

Paul joined Smiths in 2011, with sixteen years of IT experience. His strength comes from having worked from the ground up across a number of technologies and a diverse range of sectors. He sees solutions where others see problems and has a level of perception that enables him to dissect business, strategy and technical challenges with clarity and simplicity.

Prior to joining Smiths, Paul spent four years in a retail organisation as the Enterprise Architect and Senior Manager and twelve years as a Solution Architect solving complex problems and delivering demanding business needs in sectors such as Publishing, Telecoms, Finance and Transport.

Paul is well qualified having an MBA from Nottingham University, TOGAF certification and Zachman certification.

Howard Crawford, Principal Consultant

Howard has 30 years’ experience in full life-cycle projects across a wide range of industries including retail, manufacturing, media, construction and fmcg. He has predominantly undertaken project and programme management roles in complex projects and his consulting expertise extends from pre-sales through to delivery.

Commercially focused with margin, profitability and P&L responsibilities in £multi-million projects, Howard has in-depth knowledge of global delivery models and has carried out extensive BPR, shared service rollouts and finance process outsourcing.

Howard is PRINCE 2 accredited, accustomed to working in an ITIL framework and has Oracle EBS expertise in P2P, R2R and O2C processes.

Nigel Bedford, Consultant

Caroline Nicholson, ABAP Consultant

Caroline has 18 years of ABAP development experience, gained on projects requiring prototyping, design, build and unit test, and also includes a spell in BAU support. Her industry exposure includes aerospace, hi-tech, pharmaceutical and retail.

Caroline relishes a challenge and enjoys developing complex transactions and interactive reports. Her problem solving skills allow her to identify problems with both new and mature developments, and she has achieved some success at performance tuning.

Rob Dottore, Principal Consultant

Rob joined Smiths Consulting in 2011 as a principal consultant.  He is an accomplished IT professional with over twenty years experience.  He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise as an enterprise architect, IT strategist and technical project leader.

Rob has had an extensive career working in industry sectors including pharmaceuticals, financial services and manufacturing.  During this time he has acquired strong leadership and innovation capabilities along with an in depth understanding of architecture governance.   As a Director of Enterprise Architecture at GSK Rob was responsible for developing core solutions for global operations.  In his current role at Smiths, Rob relishes the opportunity to produce industry-leading solutions benefiting customers in a wide range of industry sectors.

Sharon Dewhurst, Principal Finance Consultant

Sharon is a Principal Finance Consultant with 11 years specialist experience of designing and developing within all aspects of SAP FI/CO modules versions 3.1i - ECC 6.0.  Her experience includes the design and implementation of IS Retail, design, development and operation of distributed financial systems and a solid knowledge of FI/CO integration with SD and MM. 

With over 20 years’ experience across the Telecoms and Financial sector, she is equipped with a broad understanding of business processes and procedures and the ability to apply this knowledge to develop effective system solutions.
