Stephen Lee, Managing Director

Prior to his consulting career, Stephen worked in the manufacturing sector for 10 years. He has worked as a Management Consultant since 1994, he has managed various consulting practices over the years and has delivered a number of Pan European and Global Business Change initiatives including SAP, Oracle and Siebel enabled projects programmes.

Calum Bennett, Financial Director

Calum is a chartered accountant with nearly 15 years in SAP delivery, originally as a financials consultant, and latterly in various project management and governance roles.

As finance director, he enjoys setting up the nuts and bolts of customer and supplier commercials.

James Magin, Director

James has 20 years Management Consulting experience, as Smiths Consulting Director, he has overall responsibility for ongoing development of the Smiths Consulting service lines and manages the engagement management team.

Martin Pittard, Operations Director

Martin has 14 years experience implementing Integrated Business Systems with leading SAP consultancy partners. His experience has focussed on the design and management of large-scale best practice SAP Supply Chain and CRM solutions for pan-European clients.

In addition to his role as Operations Director, Martin provides account management to some of our key clients and the occasional consulting engagement advising clients on supply chain solutions.

Simon Bridson-Jones, Consultant

Simon is a quality IT professional and has over 20 years experience with a proven record in successful delivery and a practical knowledge of businesses ranging from small UK to large multi-national public and private sector organisations.  Simon has a broad range of experience gained within a variety of posts providing a strong business focus in assisting organisations to implement business and technological changes in support of their strategic objectives.  Simon’s experience has covered a range of industry sectors including Public Sector, Telecoms, Manufacturing, Retail, Hi-Tech, FMCG and Financial Services.

Peter Woodford, Defence & Aerospace Adviser

Peter joined Smiths Consulting in 2008 as the Defence & Aerospace Adviser to the Board. He has over 40 years experience in the Sector in Business Director, General Manager, Sales & Marketing, Programme Management, and Systems Engineering roles.

He was with BT for 15 years and prior to that with Ferranti, Philips and GEC Marconi. He began his career as a Weapons Engineer Officer in the Royal Navy. 

Peter enjoys the great enthusiasm and professionalism of the people at Smiths. He is helping the Smiths Board with the development of its strategy and the penetration of the Defence & Aerospace market.

Bill Scullion, Senior Business Intelligence Consultant

Bill joined Smiths Consulting in October 2006 as Senior Business Intelligence Consultant. Bill has 11 years experience of consultancy experience, developing and delivering solutions within the Pharmaceutical, Retail, Telecoms, Electronics and Food industries. Bill treats each project as a partnership where the client management and end-users bring to bear knowledge of the business to complement Bill’s technical expertise and project management skills.

Jonathan Doran, Senior Consultant

Jon is a senior consultant and has worked at Smiths since April 2005. Previously, Jon worked as an electronic systems engineer with 9 years experience within the Discrete Manufacturing and Hi Tech sectors. Jon has earned good knowledge and experience of the importance of business critical information and processes, as well as strong SAP technical and application skills. Jon has a wealth of experience of all aspects of a project lifecycles. He has gained experience on international projects and has responsibility for managing and motivating functional teams.

Richard Black, Oracle Business Programme Manager and Programme Director

Richard is a Business Programme Manager and Programme Director with 22 years consultancy experience within supply chain, manufacturing, IT business and outsourcing projects.  He has utilised his project management expertise during several Pan-European projects, deploying common business processes, whilst catering for local country needs.  Richard has also designed and delivered different business solutions to local sites. 

Richard specialises in Oracle, project management, business processes (finance, project accounting and supply-chain), business intelligence, resource management, outsourcing and development of proposals. He is SC cleared.

Spencer Shalka, Resource Manager

Spencer is Smiths Consulting Resource Manager responsible for managing the schedule of our permanent and associate consultants. He has been working in consultancy for 13 years.

Dave Howe, SAP & Oracle Consultant

Dave has over 25 years business experience, which includes 12 years consulting experience. He specialises in ERP software implementations (including SAP and Oracle), business process outsourcing, business consulting and applications management.  His strong commercial, project and technical knowledge, combined with his ability to inspire trust, have allowed Dave to build long lasting relationships at all levels within an organisation. 

Dave is an individual who makes a difference to any organisation. He works well in a team environment where personal relationships are key to getting the best out of people and ensures successful project delivery.  Dave is experienced in the full life cycle of projects and his industry experience includes manufacturing, pharmaceutical and chemicals, retail, Hi-Tech, air & defence and Government.
